Herb and “Cheese” Biscuits

These delicious and versatile herb and “cheese” biscuits are such a wonderful savoury baked good to add to your baking repertoire! They are great as a side to salads, soups or as a breakfast alternative to normal bread! You can add any herbs you like and any dairy free cheese you like as well and can also add additional items such as diced capsicum, olives, etc. the possibilities are endless!

I particularly am fond of making these as I have my great grandmothers old pastry cutters that have been used and passed down and used for over 60 years in my family and I will most definitely be passing these down to our children as well one day!

Adjust Servings
2 Cups Plain Flour
2 Tsp Baking Powder
3/4 Tsp Sea Salt
1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
6 Tbsp Cold Dairy Free Butter
1/2 Cup Shredded Vegan Cheese
1/4 Cup Chopped Fresh Herbs of Your Choice
2-3 Tbsp Plant Based Milk




Pre-Heat oven to 200c. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl by hand to ensure butter mixes through evenly (you can use the hook attachment of a stand mixer too)
Mark as complete

When fully combined, form a ball with the dough & put it in the freezer to chill for 15 mins
Mark as complete

Roll dough out to about 2cm thick & cut circles out (a drinking glass works great if you do not have a biscuit size cookie cutter!)
Mark as complete

Brush tops with melted vegan butter & place biscuits on a lined baking tray and bake for approx 15 Mins at 200c
